Access Statement for Culdene

Introduction
Culdene is a ground floor self-contained self-catering apartment being the ground floor of a detached house. It is off Main Street, up a long drive, in historic Warton on the slopes of beautiful Warton Crag. There are two Inns in the village, both within easy walking and both serving food. There is also a general store/Post Office.

Pre-Arrival
We have a leaflet we are happy to send out and also a web site at www.culdene.co.uk There is a bus for Lancaster that stops on Main Street and a 'Carnforth Connect' mini bus that is synchronised with train times at Carnforth Station (2 miles). Payments made in advance of arrival may be made by cheque, credit/debit card or Paypal. Payments made on arrival must be by cheque or cash only. A £50 deposit secures a booking, the remainder payable on or before arrival. Guests may arrive from 3pm and in order to leave time for cleaning we ask for departure by 10am. We are willing to collect and return guests to Carnforth station, if using the train.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
Directions and map are given in our information, and entrance is from Main Street where as you turn in the drive and go up the straight one there is a large sign ahead passed which is a tarmac car park. There is a sloping tarmac path round the house to the front where there are two doors. The kitchen door (furthest) has two steps and the front door one. There is also a flat flagged walkway by the lawn side to the drive. We have lighting.

General (Internal)
There is a small hall with information about the area on the dresser there, with games in the cupboard. A door leads into the spacious lounge with dining alcove. The colour scheme for the flat is green, having a mid speckled green fitted carpet throughout the main rooms. The walls are palest green and woodwork palest fawn with bright orange/red curtains. The dining area has a table, six chairs, and sideboard. There is an electric coal-effect fire, TV, video, DVD, and two full bookcases with three piece suite and two occasional tables.

Bedroom
The bedroom has fitted wardrobes, dressing table and stool, a chair and two bedside chests with lamps. The bed is zip and link (either 6ft wide double or two 3ft singles). The green theme is continued here.

Bathroom
The floor is grey and pink linoleum with a grey bathroom suite and separate white shower cubicle. There are hand holds over the bath and by the toilet.

Kitchen
The fitted kitchen has a dark green linoleum floor and cooker, fridge freezer, microwave, toaster, washer and dryer. There is ample crockery and cutlery and cleaning requisites. Also empty cupboard by backdoor for dirty footwear etc and an over door dryer for hanging damp coats etc

Grounds and Gardens
The garden and swing directly outside the flat is for the sole use of guests. There is an oriental garden with Buddha water feature and outdoor chess table that guests can use. Visitors are also invited to walk up the field where they can see the breathtaking panoramic view around Morecambe Bay and towards the lakes and Yorkshire.
